Rotator's Revenge

Looks like my rotator is in need of a bit of attention. The feedback pot is now totally goosed after the CQWW contest. The rotator itself is ok but the controller does not know which way the beam is actually pointing! Everytime i turn the beam i have to glance up through the conservatory roof to see if is actually beaming in the right direction. As you can see its a bit of a job to actually get the thing off the mast as Ian and Kev found out earlier this year. Still it needs doing, although it may have to wait till next year or some decent weather. This is the second rotator i have had that has suffered from this failure, both Yaesu, the G1000 was brand new and only 8 years old. It may be a good excuse though to get the mast back over and give everything a careful going over and some much needed maintenance.
